I guess I know what I’m doing in April…

Really, Coachella? Really. Here I am, planning out my year, thinking about the windows I’m going to have to replace, the credit cards I need to pay down, and the fact that my boyfriend works for an airline that is, um, not doing very well. And though I loved the 2007 show, the thought of going this year was just kind of a misty “oh, yeah, maybe.” And then you released the lineup.

Morrissey? Franz Ferdinand? TV On The Radio? Antony and the Johnsons (and oh, please, let Antony sing with Hercules and Love Affair, because I totally love that album)? My Bloody fucking Valentine????? Why? Why would you do this to me???? I guess I know where my tax refund is going.

Oh, and by the by, if I encounter any Rage Against the Machine fans, I may punch them in the face just on principle.

  1. wow, Anthony and the Johnsons are still around….Twin Peaks, and the song they did for the show…that brings back memories of the the good ol’ days.
hell, if you have the chance to go to Coachella I would jump on it. What an amazing show/experience.

  2. OMG I just noticed…Throbbing Gristle!!!! Theivery Corp., …yep you should go.

  3. Yeah, I bought the tickets last night, and Indie Boy is looking for hotels and plane tickets – we could fly for free since he works at an airline, but it’s standby, and we thought that confirmed tickets would be the way to go. It’s certainly a better line up than last year, when there just weren’t enough artists we were interested into get us there (although Portishead almost tipped the scales). We’ll see if it ends up being as good as the 2007 show, which was a lot of fun.
